What is the Internal Transfer process at Princess Cruises?
The Internal Transfer Program is designed to provide teammates with the opportunity to explore career changes to different departments within the organization. It is not intended as a method for obtaining an advancement in rank within a teammate's current department. This program allows teammates to apply for roles in other departments, fostering career growth and development across the organization.
Who is eligible to apply for an internal transfer?
Any active teammate in good standing with Princess Cruises who has completed at least one full contract with positive performance evaluations (3.0 or higher), has no disciplinary actions on record for the previous six (6) months of sea service, and has not transferred departments or applied for an Internal Transfer during the previous contract or leave period is eligible to apply for an internal transfer.
How do I apply for an internal transfer?
For teammates onboard, completed applications must be submitted through the Human Resources Officer no later than the expiry date of the job posting. The Human Resources Officer onboard will provide further guidance through the process. Teammates who are on leave may apply directly through the job posting displayed on the Internal Careers Site by submitting an updated resume, along with a copy of their most recent performance evaluations.
Is there a deadline for submitting my application?
Yes, completed applications must be submitted no later than the posting’s expiry date. Once the posting expires, it will be closed, and no further applications will be accepted until the next opening.
Can I apply for more than one internal transfer opportunity?
You are permitted to apply for only one internal transfer opportunity at a time. If you have already submitted an application, you will need to wait until the outcome is decided before applying for another position.
What happens if I apply after the job posting has expired?
If you submit your application after the posting has expired, it will not be considered. The job posting will be closed, and no further applications will be accepted until the next opportunity arises.
What is the internal screening process for applicants?
All candidates will go through an internal screening process to ensure fair and consistent evaluation in line with operational needs. This may include live and/or on-demand video interviews, assessment tests, and other relevant evaluations.
How long does the internal transfer process take?
The process timeline varies depending on the role and the number of applicants. Typically, you will be notified of the status of your application after the screening process is complete. The process may take several weeks, so please remain patient.
If I am selected for an internal transfer, when will I start in my new role?
The timing of your transfer depends on the availability of the role and the organization’s operational needs. While the Company will make every effort to schedule teammates into the new role, this may not always be feasible. As a result, teammates may be required to continue in their current role for one or more assignments until the new position becomes available.
What happens if I’m not selected for the internal transfer role?
If you are not selected for the internal transfer, you may continue to work in your current role or apply for other positions as they become available according to the program requirements. Feedback may be provided by your Human Resources Manager/Director to support your future applications.
Can I withdraw my application after submitting it?
You may withdraw your application at any time prior to the completion of the selection process. If you are onboard, please contact your Human Resources Manager/Director to formally withdraw your application.
Who can I contact if I have questions or need assistance with the internal transfer process?
If you have any questions or need assistance with the internal transfer process, please contact your Human Resources Manager/Director or your Global Talent Partner.
